STUDENT SERVICES

1. Library

It is a service agency whose main function is to provide materials in line with the demands of the curriculum and the needs of the students. It serves as a teaching agency by helping the students develop their research skills as locating information and using reference books and other tolls in learning.

It is a material centre that supplies classes with films, pictures, maps and periodicals in addition to books. Likewise, it serves as a reading centre where students are guided in their choice of books and their materials of learning desired both for personal and curricular purposes.

2. Heath Services

Health Records - The medical history of a student is a requirement upon admission to the school and must be filled out completely attached to the registration form to assist the school physician in assessing the student’s condition.

Dental Examination - Dental examination is conducted once in a year for all the students of the school.

Medications – The school keeps a supply of the basic medications and first aid supplies on hand. Normally, no medication will be administered to students without parental permission. All medicines brought to school may be left with the class teacher or assistant with clear labels and an instruction/authorization letter given to the teacher. The school staff maintains this as a service and will do as much as can be done to cooperate with the parental request but cannot accept responsibility for the consequences of administering or failing to administer medications.

ORDER AND DISCIPLINE

I. School Rules

A. Courtesy and respect must be shown to all the staff, fellow students, visitors or any adult who comes to school.
B. Respect for school property must be observed at all times.
C. Grooming
1. students are expected to observe good grooming and personal hygiene at all times.
2. parents are advised to send with their child extra change clothes (preferably their P.E. uniform) and grooming materials such as comb, face towel, and powder. For pre-school, extra underwear maybe necessary.

2. P.E Uniform Every Saturday

3. Non-compliance with these requirements will be considered unexcused absence together with the memo from the class teacher.

CARE FOR PERSONAL BELONGINGS

1. Students may bring educational media, which directly contribute to their studies, and will not share with their classmates. They should be properly identified with the owner’s name. Their safety is the personal responsibility of the owner.

2. Such items, which distract the attention of the students from classes such as comic books, magazines and other gadgets, should generally not be brought to school. If they brought and cause distractions, they will be confiscated and endorsed to the Principal. Such items are returned after two months.

3. All loses should be reported immediately to the class teacher. If there is a reason to believe that lost item is within the premises or is held by another in the school community, a search may be instituted by constituted authority.

4. Students should be responsible to bring all items necessary for schoolwork when they come in at 7:30 a.m. No one may call home to have forgotten assignments/materials brought to school.

CARE OF THE ENVIRONMENT

1. Care and respect for materials and equipments in the school should prevail at all times.
2. Deliberate or accidental damage of breakage of materials or equipments of any students is his responsibility. Consequent action will be taken like replacing or fixing of damaged or broken materials or equipments.

LIBRARY RULES

1. No food or drink is permitted in the library.

2. Students entering the library should bring with them only those materials and articles necessary for their research and study. Bags and other belongings must be deposited in the place provided for.

3. Silence must be observed in the library. Eating, sleeping, talking and any other act of misconduct inside the library are prohibited. Any student caught for the first time violating the rule would be given a written warning. Three warnings would constitute a suspension of library privileges.

4. Acts of vandalism such as tearing of pages, writing on the pages of books, etc would automatically constitute suspension of library privileges and be subject to proper disciplinary action. The student will be asked to replace property damaged.

5. Students going to the library during class time must have the authorization from the teacher.

6. The following are lending rules:

a. The student must present his library card upon borrowing a book. This library card should be left with the library in-charge.

b. Primary students may sign out books overnight from the class teacher, but must return them on time.

c. Preschool parents may barrow for their children books for one week.

d. A fine of B$0.50 will be imposed on over due books for the first day and an additional B$0.50 for succeeding days.
